Deep Rooted Tree
Deep Rooted Tree
Deep Rooted Tree, March 1976(The first issue)
Published by Han Chang-gi (韓彰琪, 1936-1997), this is the first magazine written entirely in Hangeul with horizontal lines of text. The editors strive to use only Korean words, rather than borrowed foreign terms that were in common usage at the time. The text is also designed for easy coherence, with the visual orientation and arrangement remaining consistent throughout the issue. The logotype of the title (“뿌리깊은 나무”) was created by Choe Jeong-ho (崔正浩, 1916-1988), one of the earliest designers of Hangeul types.
